President Victor Fuchs opened Helix Electric of Nevada in 2001. The company is a branch of Helix Electric, which was founded in San Diego in 1985. The company’s services include design/build, construction, engineering and continuous improvement of the installation and quality of electrical systems. “We cover all aspects of the market and that’s a huge advantage for us,” Fuchs says. “When the economy got bad, we could focus on areas that were doing better than others.”

“Our buildings are advertised as buildings of 1,000 uses and it can’t be more true than that,” says Brad Williams, a national sales specialist at ClearSpan, which engineers, manufactures and installs engineered fabric buildings. “Our buildings can be used as temporary housing and coverings for the construction industry and used as laydown or staging for materials. It can be used as temporary storage or permanent storage for warehousing vehicles or transloading operations. We also do an awful lot of buildings for the agriculture market to store commodities and house livestock. Our buildings can be customized to their needs.”

Plumrose USA

After more than 75 years, it would be easy for Plumrose USA to take a break from advancing its operations. But the premium meats company has no intention of letting its quality lapse, CEO David Schanzer says.

“We are the leading producer of private-branded sliced lunch meats in the country,” he says. “We value our customers’ brands as much as we value our own. You won’t find that [commitment] anywhere else.”

Based in Downers Grove, Ill., Plumrose’s product line includes bacon, packaged deli meats, cooked ribs and canned hams. The company is a subsidiary of Danish Crown, a Denmark-based international food producer.

Liberty Property Trust - Miami International Tradeport

A 125-acre former concrete tailing disposal pit in Miami-Dade County that was once considered to be too difficult to redevelop is beginning a major transformation. The first phase of the Miami International Tradeport, a $135 million, nine-building warehouse and distribution development on the site, is anticipated to open its doors before the end of 2013. 

Contractor Butters Construction and Development broke ground in early 2012 on the 147,840-square-foot warehouse facility. The LEED-certified building will feature impact glass that will allow natural lighting throughout the facility as well as be equipped with T-5 lighting. The facility also includes a truck court with trailer storage. RLC Architects designed the facility, and the engineer is Ludovici and Orange.
